[00:00:00] Hi, I'm Anne. And I'm Helen. And welcome to Metaphysical Street Smarts. What is Metaphysical Street Smarts, Helen? Physical is everything you can see with your human eyes. You can see, touch, feel, taste as a human. Metaphysical is that which you cannot see. Wi Fi, microwave energy. When you feel somebody staring at you, you can't really feel eyesight.

So metaphysical is that which you can't perceive with the human eye. Street smarts means let's take the woo woo, the energetic, the airy fairy, and add it to logic so that you can have a better experience of yourself. In this one. Let's jump in. Game on. All right. Hi, Helen. Hi, how are you doing? Hey, I'm a little bit [00:01:00] under the weather, but I am feeling happy and good. Harlow, let's just pass this weird congestion around as we develop our intuitive abilities and evolve rapidly. Yeah, let's, let's, um, take our turns and then be done for a little while.

You know, Andrea, you'll remember she was the acupuncturist at the retreat. She told me, well, we don't really know what energies are coming onto the planet. So true. We don't know. We're just, uh, we know how we're going to show up. That's it. Like, we don't have to feel victimized or annoyed or afraid. We can just say, now I get to see how I show up in this.

I know. And, um, you said last time, or a few episodes ago, you were talking about that you were glad that you got to rest whenever you wanted, and kudos to the moms. And you were mentioning, yeah, you miss NyQuil when you gotta get up early. Totally. And, uh, it's been so lovely, [00:02:00] Caden's just totally, I luckily got sick on Friday, and yeah, so, and then Saturday, who, just, I got to rest all day and just read and recuperate, and then today's been a little bit more active, trying to get stuff ready to record and everything, so.

It's been good, I'm so grateful that I have that support and partner. My gosh, I can't imagine. Yeah, it's nice, isn't it? It's really nice. So, what's your Cosmic Nudge this week? So, my Cosmic Nudge this week, I just wanted to give a shout out or a reminder that if something keeps coming up and trying it out doesn't have, like, foreseeably difficult consequences, it's okay to just try it out and give it a go, whether or not you think.

It will work, like, just taking a chance on something that's coming up. I've got this list of things I want to bring up with [00:03:00] my healthcare providers that I've just been putting off and I'm kind of saying it to remind myself, like, I'm allowed to come at it from different angles and try different things and see what feels good and what works.

Yes, and then it, you know, can be helpful too to, to ask for guidance through synchronicity through hearing the right information through things working out. And the one part You know, that I always find challenging, I'm getting better, but it's still challenging, is we don't control the when or the how, and, you know, that can be a struggle sometimes, and yet, we can't see when progress that we can measure and tangibly be excited about.

We can't see how long it takes until we're at that part, right? I was working with somebody, and she was telling me these miracles about these fundraisers that had showed up, and she said, now how do I align for the highest outcome? And I said, [00:04:00] well, you want to remember the miracle is you're aware the fundraiser's been set.

You can't be attached to the outcome. So even if you don't get the result you're looking for, it's still a miracle. Like, you don't want to lose sight of that. And so, for what, for what you've said, I would focus heavily in gratitude on the awareness. Oh, there's something I would like answers to. There's something I would like, uh, growth or healing or change or transformation through.

And when you can work in that energy, of positive expectation without being attached to where you get the change or the answers or when you get them. Uh, it's actually a lot healthier for the body. Makes sense? Yeah, so how would I, when I've got like a, I kind of just keep a, a little list and if I remember to bring it up when I say whichever provider would be able to help with that, then I'm like, okay, I guess [00:05:00] we'll move forward with this.

Because sometimes I will think I want to talk about something or look into something and then I'll just completely forget to bring it up. I'm like, okay, well, either it'll come up or it won't. And so it's, because we do live in a denser environment than, than intuition and spirit guidance, it's good if you have an, a daily anchor so you can trust that.

You know, so if you're always saying, well, this is what I would prefer and spirit, you drive, you know, or I start every day with, okay, so spirit, higher self, what do you want to experience through my body today? And that helps me remember if I forgot, well, okay. It also undoes the idea of separation. That my poor little human personality self is all alone in this big world trying to figure it out.

And so if you have an anchor that, or an affirmation, I'm always led. to connect to the right [00:06:00] answers at the right time in the right way. If you were saying that every single day, then when you forget, you'd feel like, Oh, good one. Glad that, glad that I'm on target for guidance. You have to have an anchor though.

So it's not just forgetfulness or lack of a connection or awareness through, um, Influences from mass consciousness, astrological, body chemistry. Does that make sense? Yeah. I love the idea of remembering, like almost in a nurturing way, this is what my spirit wants. Okay, spirit, tell me what you're looking to experience today, and then whatever whatever comes, it's like, oh, okay, that's it.

I don't, just like you said, I don't have to feel alone or necessarily that it's just something that's being foisted upon me. It's like, no, that's I'm, this is part of what I'm here to experience and it makes it kind of [00:07:00] more fun, more of a game in a way and just more of a higher point of view of looking at whatever comes as like, oh, this is a, this is a beautiful opportunity, challenge, whatever it is.

Yeah. Oh, look at that. I get to build patience today. Oh, wow. And. Yeah, right. And it also, you know, it just has so many meanings to me. It also helps with guilt, like, Oh, now I get to experience, uh, this and look at it and see if there are amends to be made or, you know, my participating at a different level.

So sometimes clients or, or students will say to me, well, I, this, that, and the other, and I'm like, well, which I are you talking about? The spirit, eternal I, the soul you, the personality you, the um, traumatized emotional body you. Which one are we talking to? Because it's funny, isn't it? There's so many complexities in being [00:08:00] human.

Totally. It's really fascinating. I had an astro cartography reading recently and I'd just forgotten the magic of a good reader can know things about you that seem impossible and it reminds you, oh, I didn't create that part of my personality. I came in with that just like freckles. Like I didn't create freckles on my face, but I definitely, they definitely came from somewhere.

It's such a, it's such a interesting balance of thought that I don't think I've fully grasped yet of there are some things that we come in with and come here to experience, but then so much of it is just up to what we choose and that probably, well, and I always argue the point about choice because you have to work really hard to have choice.

Yeah, not everyone does. Here's a, here's a, um, I guess an analogy, uh, to maybe help. So you kind of come in with this blueprint, let's say a blueprint of a house, right? Like we know what a, we know what a floor plan is, a blueprint of a house [00:09:00] and you come in, but you get to decorate it. You get to take care of it or neglect it.

You get to hoard or buy new things for it. You get to fill it with love and noise and mess and fun, or you get to keep it sterile and clean and tidy. So it's, We come in with big parameters, really big parameters, and what I always believe and teach is that where we are co creative is with the quality of our experience.

Whatever we value and focus on the most, that's what we, you know, end up experiencing, a matching resonance to that. But you have two boys. Aren't their personalities surprisingly, shockingly different? Yes. They've got, a lot of the time, they've got a common goal but very different ways of getting there.

Same family, same genetics, same parents, same culture, same relatives, everything. And they're so diversely different. They are. [00:10:00] I love that. It feels such a Tender way of looking at it like playing. I don't know. It does make it playful to me. I would love to do maybe that would be my vote for an EFT tapping on like the concept of Filling your home of filling your space your life with sterile tidiness, you know which is the choice and there's nothing wrong with that or hoarding Or just functional mess, or you like Yeah, and think of it how it applies to personality self.

If you hoard resentments and angers and bitterness and victim consciousness, that's That's the quality of experience you'll have in relationships. If you instead are, are so into perfectionism that you withhold love and nurture and fun, um, that too will affect the relationships that you have. If you It, you know, it's all, we're [00:11:00] just using words as symbols to try to understand concepts that are very, very complex and yet, you know, pictures like that help me.

Helps me. I feel like I get it at such a deeper level. There's a beautiful power affirmation. Um, I think this is, uh, Randolph Price, maybe. Anyway, I remember using it in meditations and as an affirmation with a class and it was I am whole, strong, perfect, powerful, beautiful, um, loving and happy. I think I, I don't think beautiful is in there.

Loving and happy and loved. Everybody got triggered on the word perfect. So they're like, well, what is perfect? And I'm like, I don't know. Let's tap and see if we get some information. And so we started tapping and it actually changed my consciousness a lot. Like I'll use my mother as an example because it came up in the tap that my mother is perfect.

For her genetics, her consciousness [00:12:00] level, her memories, her personality, her experiences, her desires, she is perfectly her for all of it. And then, you know, I think of your boys are perfect for their ages. And when they're older, it'll be different. Right? The thing I think we struggle with is we think there's some norm.

That every supposed to be aiming for and we're a lot nicer with children and puppies and kittens that it's okay if they act age appropriate, but the minute somebody is an adult, we think there's a norm or perfect and they're not hitting it. I think so in this sense, like perfect is another word. Or a way to describe just the result of something, it's the direct result of whatever situation.

Or perfect is not lacking anything, would be the broader sense of it. So when, [00:13:00] um, you know, when, I mean, we have German Shepherds in our family. When they act super protective, that's perfect for their breed, it's instinctual. Totally. When you have a child at age appropriate, if you understand child development, that's perfect development stages, right?

Um, perfect meaning it, it's par for the course. There's nothing to add or take from it. And yet we get all convoluted in our perceptions of perfectionism. Yes, . Totally, totally, totally. I would love to see everybody with kind, loving perception of their perfection, of whatever they're experiencing, whatever, um, consciousness level they're at.

Yeah. I think it could only add kindness to, to a place that could use some more kindness. , yes. And keep all the, uh, wanting to change things to [00:14:00] myself.

I get to be the change I want to see in the world. Mm hmm. Um, you ready for our listener question for the week, then? Yes, please. Who do we have? We have Samantha. So, Samantha. is a name I've given for an anonymous question we received at the retreat. So Samantha will know who she is. We just don't. But the question that was put On our little whiteboard there was how can I expand my knowledge of the metaphysical?

The same way you expand your knowledge in any arena. There's two points I'd like to make on that is keep getting information that you don't have. And the second point is know what it is you want out of the metaphysical. Really reach for teachers, um, that resonate with the end picture that you're [00:15:00] desiring.

to, to discover through metaphysics, right? So if you were going to study an instrument, a musical instrument, you would want to end up with teachers that played a genre of music that you enjoy, that you're led to discover, right? That would be a lot different in which teachers you picked after basic skills.

And so in metaphysics, just like everything else on our planet, there are teachers of all different levels and all different ethics. So, you know, that, it depends on what you want. If you want a broader world view, um, there's, you know, I like the mix of metaphysics and science. There's a fabulous book called Bridging Science and, oh, I can't think of the name now.

It's all of the channeled work of Seth. It was channeled through Jane Roberts in the 60s and a college has all of that work. Physics is just catching up [00:16:00] to what Seth was teaching, and so there was a book written about it. I bought it because it fascinated me. It was a little above my comprehension level with science, but I still thought it was awesome.

There's, uh, as I mentioned in one of the podcasts, the IONS, I O N S, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, they study metaphysical. So if you prefer a more logical scientific basis, look for those teachers. If you prefer more of the I mean, you can go as woo woo and airy fairy out there as you can imagine, there are people who teach about, you know, from crystals, to animal communication, to communicating with trees, rocks, plants, it's just limitless.

And so first decide, why would I be interested in invest time, effort, or energy or money into learning about metaphysics? What is, what direction do I want to head with it? And [00:17:00] then who do you find that's a good fit? I love that, like, what do you want? The idea of defining what you want out of learning or expanding knowledge of the metaphysical because Yeah, are you looking to develop a specific skill?

Do you want just a general sense of well being and understanding? Do you want to specialize in something? You want to use it with with or for other people yourself? Like what's the application there? Totally makes a difference. And a lot of us begin with we just want to feel better. Uh huh. Just looking for healing, right?

Uh, and today it's great because there's so much technology tied into energy, you know, it used to be the word energy electricity and that was it. And today it's there's many doctors and there are many, um, developed technologies that help with energies and explain it. It's, it's fascinating with YouTube.

You can try out a lot [00:18:00] of teachers, a lot of meditations, get a lot of direction. It's just like Googling anything, a restaurant, a type of food, or You know, even if you want to learn, let's say, um, I don't know, you want to remodel something in your house, or you want to start a new hobby, you kind of have to refine your search, or you'll be overwhelmed, right?

It's the same. Yeah. And then knowing what you want out of your, your, Learning, that can change as you go, uh, it can evolve as you go, and yet you want to start so that when you're asking the questions, you're already aligned to the answers that will serve you. Can you repeat that last bit? Yes, the reason why it can be hard with children in school, like they don't like the teachers, they don't like what they're learning, it feels like drudgery and hard work, it's because they didn't get to pick the target.

And even somebody paying for [00:19:00] college, they're like, How does this class support what I want to get out of learning? So, for humans, we do better if we're aligned to the answers we want when we're researching or looking through the question. Like, if I want to cook a certain type of meal, I'm going to narrow my search.

Right. If I'm going to learn about certain aspects of a certain hobby, I'm going to find people who are good at that with the way I like it or want to follow. And the same goes for teaching. If you're going to study a new anything, if you want to find a teacher you can resonate with and you always want to learn from people who you like how they're expressing their knowledge and their alignment to it.

Yeah, so I think for a lot of people that would mean someone that's teaching in love [00:20:00] and avoiding kind of fear, fear based teachings. And that's a big hard step to come out of the fear based teachings, right? It really is. And we have to, a lot of times, baby step our way and let it evolve as we go. And yet, clarity, clarity, clarity always makes such a difference.

You know, it's interesting, people that are not on this journey of wanting to think about thinking, not on this journey of wanting to be in choice, they will ask for relationship advice from people who do relationship badly. Or they'll trust money teachings from people who don't do well with money. It's fascinating to me.

And yet, if I think back, I was just like that until I started learning how to have more clarity and how to, how to proactively participate. What I was choosing to study and learn. Okay, so for kind of the [00:21:00] primary or a good starting point You said where it was the teachings of Seth. Well, Seth is kind of hard to study It was all channeled in the 60s and it's it's very much heavy in physics.

Although I love Seth's work But it's called bridging science and spirituality. That's the title. Okay And that's for any of the science geeks out there. You'll love it. There's other people. Greg Brayden. He worked with NASA. Very scientifically based. He teaches that way. That's Greg with two G's. Brayden.

Dr. Joe Dispenza. He is a doctor, chiropractic. He healed his own spine through mental visualization because he had just graduated Uh, chiropractic school, so he knew about the spine, and when he healed himself against all medical perception of possibility, he then went on a life's journey, he's still committed, to [00:22:00] learning about the mind and healing.

So you have two different teachers right there. Like, are you more into the science? Are you more into the healing? Um, are you more into connection and communication? Are you more into the magic of it? Like, uh, studying, I don't know, more mystical, magical things. It just depends on what it is you want. Where do you start?

And you may evolve your desires as you go, but at least start with something that calls to you. So what would your question for Samantha be? What is it you want out of metaphysics from your understanding of it today? Yeah, and that can evolve later. Totally. Mine's definitely evolved and will continue, right?
