Ep26Monica

Anne: [00:00:00] Hi, I am Anne, and I'm Helen. And welcome to Metaphysical Street Smarts. What is Metaphysical Street Smarts? Helen

Helen: Physical is everything you can see with your human eye. You can see, touch, feel, taste as a human. Metaphysical. Is that what you cannot see? Wifi microwave energy. When you feel somebody staring at you, you can't really feel eyesight.

Helen: So metaphysical is that what you can't perceive with the human eye? Street smarts means let's take the woowoo, the energetic, the airy fairy, and add it to logic so that you can have a better experience of yourself. In this one.

Anne: As always, we invite you to take what blesses you and leave the rest. We're so glad you're here.

Anne: Let's jump in. Hi, Helen. Hi, Anne.

Helen: Hi. How are you doing this week? [00:01:00] Good. I am curious what kind of question we have today and what kind of cosmic nudge. I just love our time together.

Anne: Me too. Um, we do have a, I wanted to read a review before we jump into the cosmic nudge here.

Helen: Oh, that's so nice.

Anne: Yes. Uh, this one is from Sid Ray five and, uh, Sid Ray five.

Anne: Titled, her Review Weekly Pick Me Up. She said, the show is definitely a weekly pick me up, Ann and Helen bring a light to deep questions. I always feel like the answers are accessible and within my reach as I work on self-improvement. Absolutely recommend the show to anyone who is working towards their best selves.

Anne: Oh

Helen: my gosh, that is an awesome review, isn't it? Oh, it's so nice. Thank you Sid Ray. I mean that like, ugh. I love that perfect mission statement for the podcast. Yeah.

Anne: You can't see our faces, but you can [00:02:00] probably hear that we're smiling big. So thank you. Feel, feel our, uh, beaming? Yes, definitely. Okay. Well then Cosmic nudge now.

Anne: Yes, please. Okay. So, uh, we've talked about. Before about how what we focus on expands. And I mentioned in my cosmic nudge a few weeks ago, um, I had a list of, I had a list of things to like bring up with health providers and I wanted to just touch on or ask when does making a list of things to try become.

Anne: Just a tool for perpetuating struggle or finding things to heal, because I think we've also talked before about how, well, like I said, what, what we focus on expands and Yeah. What, at what point does it kind of tip in the, in a direction that's not as helpful?

Helen: Well, it's always the same answer for anything here [00:03:00] in, in.

Helen: The way that you're asking the question, it's always what is the energy of your intention in the question or the list. So if you have an energy of, these are things I would like to support my body in getting to the next level, that's a whole different energy than here's a list of. Uh, discomfort that I need help healing.

Anne: Yeah. Okay.

Helen: I moved away, um, from marketing EFT even though I love EFT, I still love it and I'm excited I doing group, or even when people come to me for sessions, um, you know, that's always more intense because tapping is a clearing modality. Uh, unless even when I'm tapping in groups, it's more of a, I always call them teaching taps.

Helen: If you check out the audio library, they're, they're amazing what they [00:04:00] teach. And yet tapping EFT as a healing modality is all about clearing. And at some point I realized you can clear, clear, clear. But you're gonna keep repeating the same patterns with new people or relationships or situations or circumstances if you don't learn a new way of showing up and thinking.

Helen: And that's when I switched into more teaching and coaching. So again, do you feel the difference if you're tapping for healing, for healing, for healing, for healing, I need more healing. I need more clearing. I need to tap this out. Get rid of this. You'll be tapping the rest of your life if you're tapping to have get unstuck.

Helen: Which I love to help people get unstuck with tapping, and then you're gonna apply new ways of showing up or learning something new or interacting in a different way. Then tapping becomes this beautiful tool that you only need on occasion. Right? Mm-hmm. And so it's always the [00:05:00] energy of the intention behind the action.

Helen: Whether it's making a list, going to the doctor, or creating a new event, or a hobby, or having a conversation with somebody. You really wanna check what your energy is and the intention before you start or set it up.

Anne: Okay, so I want to ask you, because I think that people, well, I know for myself and people that I've sat next to at retreats and, and, uh, different workshops that I think that for a lot of people we don't even realize that we're, that we're doing it in a kind of stating what we don't want, way we don't realize and, and bring that up.

Anne: So how do we. How do we do that? Because that like

Helen: a broken record, right? Do your what? Why, how, how. Here's my list for medical community industry. Mm-hmm. Here's [00:06:00] my what? Here's my why. Here's my how. I'm gonna ask how I'm gonna organize and here's what success would be. Right? Right. Even when people, clients come to me for one-on-one sessions, I always start with, what is it you want out of our time together?

Helen: A lot of times it's, they have to, it's really hard for them to say it takes a little while, and yet I know that if they can guide their mind into clarity, they can receive so much more.

Anne: Yeah, that's very true from my experience. Um, you also touched on the idea of, I think you've called it a vacuum before, where like clearing creates a vacuum, you've gotta fill what you've cleared with.

Anne: New information. Um, and so you said that's when you switched into coaching and, and teaching that kind of thing more frequently?

Helen: Yeah. So another way to say it, which is, can kind of sound gross, but um, the [00:07:00] human mind can only regurgitate what it knows. So if you don't give it new information, you're gonna repeat.

Helen: Just what you know, Uhhuh, doesn't that explain a lot about people in your life?

Anne: Oh, it's so hard. I mean, we've talked, it's so hard to change and yeah, it, it's clearing it enough that we can. You know, like when you're filling up, when I'm filling up our little inflatable hot tub in the backyard, like you, you get it filled up, you get it all cleared, and then you gotta hurry and plug it closed, and you gotta somehow put more information in there.

Anne: And it's, it's a challenge. And it's also just. Yeah. That's what we're here for.

Helen: Yeah. And at some point in your journey of personal and spiritual growth, it, it quits being all a pill and instead of being [00:08:00] a challenge and a heavy energy, it's a, I get to be challenged by this to see what my next expansion is.

Helen: Mm-hmm. And yeah, it is all a journey. You know, we begin, we're mired deeply in third dimensional fear, right? Wrong energy, and it's just hard. And then you start learning what I could think differently, what I could learn what somebody studied this. And you can learn processes and ways of thinking, and there's so many cool things you can learn about.

Helen: And then. You get more confident in that, and then it starts to just be, oh, I don't have to do this. I look forward to doing this. What am I gonna choose next? That's a challenge, right? And that's just the nature of being human. It starts off, nobody likes being a newbie. It's so awkward and not fun. And then you keep plugging away and next thing you know, you.

Helen: You understand more, you get more confident and you just, [00:09:00] and then it's fun and then you look back on it and you forget how hard it was. So, are you ready for our listener question for

Anne: the week? Yes. Who put in a question? So this question this week came in from Monica. It's not Monika. This one's Monica.

Anne: And uh, so. Her question is, uh, with so much intensity in the world right now, I'm finding it hard to stay grounded. How can I stay present and calm without feeling like I am ignoring what's happening?

Helen: Yes. So this is about defining your intention of how you observe what's happening, right? Inner peace doesn't mean apathy.

Helen: Or a neutrality that gives up caring and kindness and compassion and understanding and patience. You know, we wanna observe with the clarity of what is our business and what [00:10:00] isn't. And what is our business is the energy we're in when we observe. I remember, um, one of, um, she was a student at the time. We had been together weekly for a long time, and she said this was like.

Helen: I don't know. I think it was just one election ago, so four, a little over four years ago. And uh, she said, for my spiritual prac practice, I'm gonna watch politics until I'm not triggered by it. And just pray with compassion for both sides. And I'm like, dang, I'm impressed. That's awesome. My gosh. Whoa. Right.

Helen: Talk about picking your

Anne: next challenge.

Helen: Right. And so again, it's about. If I'm gonna observe intensity on the planet today, what is the energy I'm aiming for as the observer? What is it I wanna contribute as the observer? What is it? I wanna use my mind as a tool to guide my emotional body to that's of service in the way I define service?

Anne: Brilliant. I mean, it makes [00:11:00] for intentional consumption of the information.

Helen: And hopefully, you know, we wake ourselves up enough for intentional everything. Intentional consumption of communism, you know, commercializing, uh, that that didn't come out. Consumerism. Yes. Try to say that all together for me three times.

Helen: Oh, right. Um, an intentional. Consumption of entertainment, an intentional consumption. You see, I'm trying to anchor that, that, uh, concept because I love it. Mm-hmm. Right. What if we were intentional with all of it, not just what we're giving. What if we were really super intentional of how we're receiving,

Anne: uh, food, other people's, uh, interactions with other people?

Anne: Yeah.

Helen: And that's, that is called awakening. Being in choice, being present, being aware, not just being unconscious and on [00:12:00] autopilot and responding in the way you've always responded because it's a habit.

Anne: Yeah. That's a, also talk about the next challenge. I mean, it's all the same, right? Where day in and day out.

Anne: What we're talking about is choosing the way that we show up. And

Helen: that's really

Anne: the

Helen: only thing we can develop control with. And it's not even control, it's skill.

Anne: Right? Oh, it was, was it you who was saying there's a difference between being in control of your body versus being in command of your body or, or the situation?

Anne: Someone said it. I feel like it was at the retreat. So it was probably you, but could have been. I don't always

Helen: remember everything I say. Um, yeah, it and so it's again, yeah, control is a tricky word actually, because of the way we use it. Kind of like love is, there's human love and then there's God love, source, love, very different.

Helen: [00:13:00] Perceptions of love. There's, you know, parent love, there's romantic love, there's, I love pizza. There's all kinds of ways we use one term. And, um, I, I would personally, I wouldn't say in command of my body, I might say I'm in partnership with my body and how I choose to utilize my body. I can't say I'm always in command or control of it because I have a long history of, of, uh.

Helen: Discomfort in this form because I'm always dragging it into higher frequency, pushing the envelope of what I can build my stamina for.

Anne: Okay, so anything else for staying present and calm without feeling like I'm ignoring what's happening?

Helen: Yes. You'd have to go

Helen: into what would that look like? What would make me present and calm? Like what belief system, what thought patterns? What emotional trauma would I [00:14:00] look at healing, maybe even tapping on so that I could be in peace and awareness as I witness intensity? And, you know, we all struggle in different ways. I'll tell you one way I've been doing it for decades now, is, uh, through the way I watch movies.

Helen: Holy Spirit, please let me three see through your perception. Please let me understand. How to let go of judgment that is not of service. You know, that's not discernment. Um, I use, I use actually movies or books or, uh, news is a little harder for me 'cause you never get the whole story. I do like movies that, that give me history in the story in a fuller way.

Helen: And yet for me it's about letting go of judgment of individuals in circumstances. How do I. Have inner peace and radiate love, even if people are acting [00:15:00] in ways I would never consider appropriate, and then I know why, right? I want to be the change I wanna see in the world instead of in training to emotional intensity, because other people are acting in emotional intensity.

Helen: Being the change I wanna see in the world means that I remain with inner peace, compassion. All the energies of love, patience, kindness, forgiveness, acceptance. Also standing up for what's right when that's appropriate. Or, you know, caring for others. You know, stepping between attack for others, not gossiping, not judging.

Helen: How do I remain that way? Well, I get in crystal clarity, what does that mean? Why do I want that? How would I do that? And sometimes to get your how. You have to put everything. It isn't. And, and how would I know I'm successful? Does that make sense? You'd have to fill in all those blanks, Monica, just to guide yourself over and over and over into that, [00:16:00] and it does evolve and change as you go.

Helen: I can now listen to people ranting and raving politically. It doesn't happen too often, and I can just listen to their passion and remain in peace. Took a lot of practice. Feels good though.

Anne: Yeah. And I mean, you did also mention, you know, there's room for activism and, um, standing up for ourselves and other people in this.

Anne: Yeah,

Helen: absolutely. And yet standing up in confidence and inner peace and coherence, uh, is way different than attacking and belittling.

Anne: Yeah. I'm being dragged down by. Other people or ways. Yes. And if I

Helen: was in politics or if I, if my soul had wanted to be an activist this lifetime, I'd be in 110%. That's just not my calling this time around.

Helen: Mm-hmm.

Anne: Yeah. It's okay for us to have [00:17:00] different roles and also following our. Our souls and our conscience in, in the ways that we're showing up in the world.

Helen: Yes. And it's much easier to do that if you don't have a traumatized emotional body trying to run the whole agenda through anger and fear. Right?

Helen: Sure. You know, this past election and I was telling my husband, whoever's elected, I'll have compassion for them because it's gonna be a rocky four years and whoever they are. I will feel great compassion and non-judgment because I, I've never understood who would want that job, just saying,

Anne: oh, well, the, the people who don't understand who would want that job are honestly the people who should have that job.

Helen: And, you know, and yet it's always the big provokers create the most change. And so it's like you can fight it or. [00:18:00] Look for the good in every situation, or you can look, you can develop inner peace through the things that really trigger you. It's all, again, what is it you want out for your quality of experience out of your life?

Helen: Okay. Do you have a question for Monica? Yes, Monica. I would just say, you know, have you done your what? Why? How? How on how to be the observer of intense situations so that it matches what resonates with your heart. And your level of what you wanna

Anne: be in the world, love it. And that that includes what you're contributing, what action you're taking or not taking.

Anne: I just, you get to decide and practice it till you're good at it from a healthy body. Practice, practice, practice. All right. Well, I think that's everything for this episode then. I think we covered it all. Yes. One that we're all invited [00:19:00] to

Helen: to keep practicing and serving because there's a lot going on, right?

Helen: Oh yeah. What's the, uh, Chinese, is it a proverb or a blessing? I don't know. Or paradox, right? May you live in interesting times? I'd say we are.

Anne: Yeah. Message received. Got it. Thanks for that one. You. Wish just granted. Hope you're happy.
