Anne: [00:00:00] Hi, I am Anne, and I'm Helen. And welcome to Metaphysical Street Smarts. What is Metaphysical Street Smarts? Helen

Helen: Physical is everything you can see with your human eye. You can see, touch, feel, taste as a human. Metaphysical. Is that what you cannot see? Wifi microwave energy. When you feel somebody staring at you, you can't really feel eyesight.

Helen: So metaphysical is that what you can't perceive with the human eye? Street smarts means let's take the woowoo, the energetic, the airy fairy, and add it to logic so that you can have a better experience of yourself. In this one.

Anne: As always, we invite you to take what blesses you and leave the rest. We're so glad you're here.

Anne: Let's jump in. Okay. Well, hi Helen.

Helen: How are you doing? I'm doing very good, Ann. So nice to be here [00:01:00] again with you and whoever's listening.

Anne: Yeah. Happy recording day. Always a pleasure. Um, before we jump in, do you have any, any housekeeping or anything you wanna announce? No, I'm sure you and I are

Helen: still floating from the retreat.

Helen: Mm-hmm. Just amazing. I love when a bunch of people get together with one purpose of personal growth and connection and happiness and potentiality, and I was so excited that you were there. I was surprised that you came and I just am in this lovey-dovey appreciation mode and I feel that way too, actually.

Helen: Even though I don't know who you are when you're listening, and I don't know who you are, when the questions are asked still, you're in my daily intention of sending light and love to you. And so yeah, just rippling that out. Appreciation, [00:02:00] gratitude, delight.

Anne: I love that. It's so true. We don't know who's listening, but still fully, whoever is listening is in our intention and mind and.

Anne: In the preparation to the recording, to the editing. It's, it's all with our group in mind, so thanks for being here. It's lovely, isn't it? It's a, it's a, yeah, for me

Helen: it's a physical, proactive experience of oneness at so many levels. I can't mm-hmm. Humanly perceive or no?

Anne: Yeah. Whoever you are, you're invited.

Anne: You're already here, so, cool. Well, I've got our cosmic nudge for the week, if you wanna jump in. Yes. Awesome. Awesome. Well, I was thinking about what I was gonna bring up today, and I, this popped into my head. It's probably been, it's been a while since I thought about it, but a few years ago I was listening to a speaker at a church meeting and they were talking about how righteousness brings [00:03:00] prosperity and then.

Anne: They asked a question that was a total light bulb moment for me, and it was, what if you've already prospered? And it shook me awake and over the next. Few days, and I mean years now, that idea of if I look around at what I have, I'm not, I'm not waiting for something. I actually already have this incredible life and I can say, yes, please.

Anne: More of that. And I still already have prospered and it's, it was a total mind shift from where I was because I just had this perception that I was. Doing all these things and scraping by just so that I could make my contribution and then be rewarded and for just completely forgetting that this was all.

Anne: The reward is the journey and that [00:04:00] that like this experience is not to get something, it's to have the experience. And that's totally changed my life. And I wanted to bring that up because I love it. And I use it every day, even if I, it's not consciously.

Helen: Yeah. So that sounds a little different than I just looked up the definition for righteousness.

Helen: 'cause I was like, huh. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You know, that's being morally or. Religiously justified or, right. Mm-hmm. And I'm a big teacher of not, and when I say big teacher, I mean I'm teaching myself through how I speak, through what I study, through how I share and receive that, you know, right and wrong is not my focus because mm-hmm.

Helen: I don't think there's one truth on earth for everybody. I do know. That often we use the terms right and wrong, right? Is what would I prefer to use the words love and fear. Love is something that doesn't hurt anybody in its expression of being shared or expanding. Fear is something [00:05:00] or wrong if you're gonna use that label.

Helen: That way is where somebody profits or is in the rightness, but at the expense of others. And yet I'm sure that isn't how the church you were listening to meant it. Um, I think they probably meant morally justified. And so that's a fascinating conversation right there. Right. I would like to tie that in that words, labels are always interpreted through the speaker, through their memories, their DNA, their experiences, their culture, their belief systems, and then whoever's listening interprets it a different way.

Helen: Through their own experience Totally. Experiences, memories. Right. So that's fascinating. So I, I, I got thrown for a loop with that word, and yet I love how you interpret it. That's why I air

Anne: quoted

Helen: Yeah. That you've already prospered. And so the way I would teach that in vibrational law is you can either focus on the scarcity or the abundance period.

Helen: Mm-hmm. [00:06:00] Because here on earth, both exist. Everything exists here at the same time. What you gonna focus on? What are you gonna become mesmerized with? What are you gonna speak about? What are you gonna enlarge in your feeling place? And so if you can notice anywhere you've prospered and be in gratitude for that, and think about prosperity and witness other people's prosperity and keep seeing it, keep seeing it, keep seeing it.

Helen: Eventually you just expand. Prosperity as an experience.

Anne: Oh,

Helen: that's a cool idea.

Anne: Yeah. I mean, I think that that's, that's my goal. That's my

Helen: intention. Yeah. So I've had so much fun because I came from a long family line of scarcity, so I really worked on the idea of lavish abundance and oh, so much fun. Like how many words have you spoken?

Helen: How many words have you heard, how many notes of music? How many lyrics, how many breaths have you taken? How many leaves on trees have you seen in your lifetime? How [00:07:00] many tires on automobiles? How many windows? How many doors? How many steps have you taken? How many clothes have you worn? How many times have you changed your mind?

Helen: How many, any ideas have you thought about or been exposed to? I mean, we live in. Unimaginable beyond comprehension, lavish abundance.

Anne: That just makes me wanna close my eyes and like smile. I don't know, I just like you were talking and I'm just like, I couldn't even answer. And why is that so happy to me?

Anne: I'm grateful I can't answer those questions because I have no idea there's so much of it. And those all. Seem like things that are really simple and why would I even need to be grateful for those, but I am so grateful that there are more leaves than I can count. Yeah, it took me and more ways to change my mind.

Helen: It actually took me years and years of hard [00:08:00] choice, of focusing and practicing, and now I couldn't undo it. I believe in abundance. I believe in prosperity. I believe in goodness expanding. I feel very safe and sure that no matter what happens, there's more good than bad at any given moment in my life.

Helen: That's a nice place to be and again, I did work for it and now I can't imagine undoing it would take all that work too.

Anne: Totally. Okay, we Are we ready for our listener question? Yes, please. For this week. Okay, well, Sarah provided our question for this week. So Sarah asked, I'm missing a big chunk of memories from my childhood.

Anne: Am I suppressing them? Do I need to find a way to access them? Or is it better to leave it alone?

Helen: So it's interesting, you know, the new paradigm on earth, the spiritual paradigm today, vibrationally speaking. We don't have to do all that digging in the past anymore, [00:09:00] there was a time we did absolutely talk therapy is all we had to really help us.

Helen: And today, the way the earth is changing and culture and technology and science and comprehension today, you can move forward by focusing on solution and. Target and clarity in how you think defining what you want. You don't really have to muck around in the past so much. You can literally heal the past by showing up in consciousness and choice in the present moment and what you're planning from the present moment for the future.

Helen: So let me see if I can give a, a better example of that. So there, if you so use an analogy on earth because the way things work on earth is the way everything works on earth, including personal or spiritual growth. So if you have a business [00:10:00] and technology changes as it does, and it's a hardship switching, and then you.

Helen: You can smooth run and things are good again, and then technology up levels again. You gotta change again, right? This is something we could all understand and you do. You wanna work for a boss who keeps talking about, Ugh, last time we did this, it was so hard in the beginning, we never had that. Why do we have to do this?

Helen: Do you want somebody focused on the past, how hard it was, what went wrong? Do you need to do that with technology today? Nope. You just gotta learn how the new stuff works and catch up to it. Right. Yeah. And so just like that example for us as humans, even though we're not tech, we're not science, science based, only because we have emotion too.

Helen: We can also focus, uh, like we were just talking. If you wanna focus on abundance or prosperity, you don't need to go into the long history of what your parents didn't get right [00:11:00] and what their parents went through and what their parents before them went through. You don't have to spend a lot of time there.

Helen: You might find it intellectually stimulating and interesting, but you only wanna spend about 5% of your time there, and then 95%. On the solution. How do people who have a prosperous mindset think How do people who do money well think, how do generous people think that, you know, let me learn that. Not how did I used to think?

Helen: How did my parents think? It's, we're really evolving as a species out of blame and guilt. When we can unload those two, we can just start evolving with so much more joy and grace instead of suffering and mucking around in the problem forever.

Anne: Yeah. Instead of needing to revisit old beliefs and values that that don't, I mean, didn't result in happiness for the people who help them.

Anne: Why would I want to continue that? [00:12:00]

Helen: And if your mind has repressed certain memories, you know, a lot of times, so, so this can be interesting a lot of times, um, we can't remember things because we were in a pain body when we did them. Have you ever had a fight with your husband? I'm asking you, Ann, have you ever had a fight with your husband and it's heated and you are like not happy, and then it's over and you can't really remember what you were arguing about?

Helen: Yes.

Anne: Right. Isn't that crazy? Yeah. Yeah. Like, what is that? And, um, not so much anymore, but definitely, definitely

Helen: early in marriage, right? Yes. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I have, I'm grateful I haven't had that experience in many, many years. And yet I do remember it. I do remember fighting with my parents like that and not having clarity on what we were trying to yell at each other or communicate or friends or, you know.

Helen: Relationships. So that's when you're taken over by not thinking that's what you don't [00:13:00] remember. Your conscious mind is not engaged. You're in an emotional reaction. And, and think of like addiction. Any kind of addiction. So what is addiction? Addiction is where you take something enjoyable like shopping, eating a slice of cake, uh, reading a book, and then you go overboard to where it starts costing you something.

Helen: I. Instead of just enjoying it, right? Like if you eat a slice of cake, awesome. That's fun, that's wonderful. Celebratory tastes delicious. But if you eat the whole cake, now you're challenging your body to deal with the sugar and everything in it. So addiction, you're not conscious when you choose addiction, right?

Helen: There's some crazy pain body, some unconsciousness that takes over and, and, and just somehow takes over. And so when. We can go into becoming mesmerized with the problem or what we can't remember or what [00:14:00] caused the pain, and yet that can be a lifetime exploration. You know, it used to be talk therapy.

Helen: People would go in and they never came out, right? They would have a therapist for 20, 30 years. Today, you can choose that if you want. Uh, that's fine if that's what you prefer. And yet, if you really, if there's something you want in life, happiness, good communication, more money, um, more contribution to feel differently.

Helen: You can spend a little bit of time understanding where you've been, but you wanna spend the bulk of your focus on how to align. Through knowledge, through the way you speak, through the way you act, through the way you show up, through the way you think with what you prefer to experience. Like if you wanna say you wanna lose weight, I.

Helen: Instead of studying all the problems with being overweight or people who are overweight or what they're doing wrong, why don't you [00:15:00] learn? What do healthy people do? What do like athletic people do? What do people who don't overeat? What are they thinking? How do they perceive food? What are they doing?

Helen: That's the information you'd wanna get in your mind. And that's the. Protocols or the ideas you'd wanna set up, Hey, let me choose this because it gives my body this reaction, or let me reset my metabolic rate by doing what's worked that people who have studied this say, let me try that on, right? Get mesmerized with the solution instead of being trapped in the problem.

Anne: Yeah. In the look at what you want and how, what the steps are to get there and how other people have done that, that's what we wanna focus on. Instead of trying so hard to stay away from one thing, what are we going toward? Because just trying to stay away from something isn't. It doesn't bring us closer to what we want.

Anne: It just kinda keeps us paddling against that.

Helen: Right. And there's a cliche about it. What you focus on, you get more of. So [00:16:00] if you get mesmerized with, what am I not remembering? What am I repressing it? Like what screwed me up in the beginning, I. I, the joke in my family was always blame the mother 'cause I was the mother, right?

Helen: And you know, you can do that. You can just, just get mesmerized with where did the problem start? What is it? How many details are there involved? How long has it been going on? You can really spend a lot of time there. You can make it a hobby, an addiction, and yet it's never gonna give you what you really think it will.

Helen: Everything you're seeking that you want next, that you haven't yet. Owned as part of your normal way of being. It's just outside of your comfort zone, and it is not in your past. It's in the future. It's in your future skills, your future thoughts, your future words, your future actions. That's what you want.

Anne: I love it. Um, do you have a

Helen: question for Sarah on this one? Yeah, Sarah, I would just, um, you know, lovingly reassure you that [00:17:00] if your mind doesn't wanna Remi remember certain things, there's probably a good reason for that. And there's nothing in the past, whatever happened or didn't happened, or how you remember it, or other people remember it.

Helen: There aren't answers there that are gonna actually empower you or make you feel better today, the bad that happened in the past. It doesn't matter how you remember it or don't remember it, it happened. It's over. There's nothing there that can make you feel better today. There's no understanding, there's no perspective that will empower you more than what you choose to focus on going forward.

Helen: So would ask you to question yourself, what is it you really want? And then if you wanna look at it or talk about it with somebody, or somebody you trust, you know, talk about it and realize the answers and the directions and the guidance and the knowledge you want [00:18:00] is not in your past. It's what you learn and what you

Anne: choose from moving forward.

Anne: So with tips for helping move forward, talk therapy has its place, but where like beyond, once that's kind of been utilized, and you'll find

Helen: that your, your therapist today, it's not like a forever a commitment. They'll help you get past a certain block, a certain struggle. Right. I, I. I really honor that profession and I have clients that come for coaching.

Helen: I'm like, Hmm, you really need a therapist. Right? And because that's a very powerful skillset that these people have studied and, and continue to study and they help people over big humps. And even that they may have you look a little bit at how you got into the problem, but they don't keep you there. A good therapist moves you forward, right?

Helen: Mm-hmm. And so how do you move forward? Well, this is what you know. I always [00:19:00] teach clarity and thought to find your what, to find your target, know your end in mind, and then support that by understanding why you want that. And figure out how to logistically, realistically, measurably, tangibly take steps towards it.

Helen: And always when you're doing this work, define what success would be. What way? How, how, there you go. Sounding like a broken record, but it's because it works

Anne: just over and over It's, it is because it works. All right, Helen, that is. Our episode for this week. Anything else you wanna add or mention?

Helen: I would just like to invite all the listeners, what's your next what? What's your next target for yourself personally? Hmm. Spiritually, financially, health wise, relationship wise, work-wise, CareerWise, rest wise.

Helen: Pick something just outside your comfort zone and go for it. [00:20:00]

Anne: Fun. Tell us about it. Send us questions, uh, or just update us. We'd love to hear.

Helen: Absolutely. Would love it. Thank you so much. Yeah,
