Anne: [00:00:00] Hi, I am Anne, and I'm Helen. And welcome to Metaphysical Street Smarts. What is Metaphysical Street Smarts? Helen
Helen: Physical is everything you can see with your human eye. You can see, touch, feel, taste as a human. Metaphysical. Is that what you cannot see? Wifi microwave energy. When you feel somebody staring at you, you can't really feel eyesight.
Helen: So metaphysical is that what you can't perceive with the human eye? Street smarts means let's take the woowoo, the energetic, the airy fairy, and add it to logic so that you can have a better experience of yourself. In this one.
Anne: As always, we invite you to take what blesses you and leave the rest. We're so
glad you're here.
Let's jump in.
Anne: Hi, Helen.
Hello. Hi. Welcome to another week of Metaphysical [00:01:00] Street Smarts. How's your week been going? It's good. Oh, is
Helen: this a meditation?
It is a meditation episode.
Helen: Okay. Wow. All right, so. Did you pick or what's going on for this meditation?
Yeah, we had a request actually, um, for a meditation for dealing with transition loss, grief, anxiety.
I think it's, the request is kind of helping with all of the things that come with going through a grieving process.
Helen: Oh. I feel the sadness and there's so much of that happening right now. And at different levels. Right. Okay. Well, wow. It almost makes me think of like, that's, tapping would be helpful too.
Helen: So just a reminder, there is a tapping library on my website, home raise.com. You don't have to sign up or log in or anything. Um, that can really help when you feel stuck in any anxiety [00:02:00] or fear or overwhelm or even stuck in sadness. Grief is a natural. Aspect of being human. And it's, it's the most unusual energy field because it's different for everybody and there's not really a timeline or shelf life that you can easily predict.
Helen: And yet, EFT even helps with that, that you don't get stuck in it. Like, it'll clear things that aren't a clean aspect of human grief. So that's a big, big meditation. So heads up and warning first. Uh. Don't listen while driving. And second of all, have Kleenex ready and allow enough time to reground after, in case it's a well, it's actually gonna be covering, I believe, the three big fears we all have as humans.
Helen: Um, fear of physical death, fear of impermanence or change that's unwanted. And you know, the fear that we can't have unconditional [00:03:00] love here. Which is true because you live in a conditional state here, so nobody can love you unconditionally. That's in form, and yet these fears are not. They're behind all of our suffering and all of our struggles, and so let's see what we get in the meditation to help us with that.
Sound good? Sounds great. For this episode's Cosmic Nudge. I wanted to read a poem. This is when great trees fall by Maya Angel. When great trees fall rocks on distant hills, shutter lions hunker down in tall grasses and even elephants, lumber after safety. When great trees fall in forests, small things recoil into silence.
Their senses eroded beyond fear. When great souls die, the air around us becomes light. Rare, sterile. We [00:04:00] breathe briefly. Our eyes briefly see. With a hurtful clarity, our memories suddenly sharpened, examines gnaws on kind words on said promised Walks never taken. Great souls die, and our reality bound to them takes leave of us.
Our souls depended upon their nurture. Now shrink whined, our minds formed and informed by their radiance fall away. We are not so much maddened as reduced the unutterable ignorance of dark cold caves and when great souls die after a period, peace blooms slowly and always irregularly. Space is filled with a kind of soothing electric vibration.
Our senses restored never to be the same whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be, be, and be better for they existed.[00:05:00]
Helen: Okay, listeners, be comfortable. Um, be in a space where you won't be interrupted and. Here we go.
Helen: So as you settle in, be aware that you're in choice. Be aware of your surroundings. What do you hear? Is there any taste in your mouth? Anything you're aware of? Smelling the sensation of the temperature, the way your body is supported. The ambient sound outside your window or of the air heated or cool a fan.
Helen: Just become aware of your physical [00:06:00] presence even as you choose to relax, knowing that for the next little while, there's nothing for you to do. Except choose to physically relax, to mentally relax, to soften, to feel supported, and listen to my voice. It's such a beautiful gift to choose to physically relax, to take a little break.
Helen: And utilize the mind as a tool
Helen: to intend to seek, to align, to and to co-create healing of the challenges and hardships of [00:07:00] being in human form. Nothing for you to do but listen to my voice. And relax.
Helen: Feel your body supported not just by where you sit or lie. Feel your body supported by your skeletal system, by your muscular system, your body, fully supported by your glands, your organ. The chemistry. Maybe you could even imagine that this meditation is for your nervous system. This meditation is for the nervous system and for your heart.
Helen: Shocker, using the mind as a tool [00:08:00] to receive benefit, to receive comfort.
Helen: To experience some peace in a different level of awareness and consciousness admits the chaos of pain swirling around you,
Helen: and as you trust the body. To relax even more. Softening all your muscles softening, feeling the breath slow, feeling the eyes so heavy,
Helen: soaking in relaxation as though it were sunshine that warms you at a soul level. [00:09:00] Soaking in the guidance of the words coming through my mouth that you hear, knowing that only good, only that which would bless you and serve you shall enter your consciousness. Feeling aligned to the choice to know you are safe and you are safe in this moment.
Helen: Relaxing into comfort the way the body desires water when it feels dehydrated.
Helen: This time where you would so lovingly allow your body,
Helen: your nervous system, your heart chakra to receive comfort through your mind. [00:10:00] It is comforting in and of itself
Helen: and imagining with me now that you could picture yourself on a beautiful beach.
Helen: You could hear the waves and the seagulls. Maybe you can even hear the wind in distant palm trees. Beautiful beach, white sand, not too hot.
Helen: Imagine now engaging your senses through your imagination.
Helen: Allow yourself all to feel fully present. In a way that's nurturing the sun on your skin, ever burning, warming, [00:11:00] comforting, relaxing your stress and your muscles, the sounds that are so consistent and familiar, the waves, the seagulls, something known that is consistent. And comforting in that consistency, the way the waves lap against the shore, and then pull back
Helen: and imagine that you look down and next to your bare feet in the sand,
Helen: there's a long stick, a sturdy stick that you pick up. Feel it in your hand. Is it smooth? Is it rough? Is the stick rather straight or is it a little bit crooked? It's the perfect stick to write in the sand width, [00:12:00] easily let this stick be the perfect length, the perfect width for you to feel comforted by its presence.
Helen: As the sand and the sounds, the breeze in the sunshine. I'll invite you
Helen: to utilize this stick to write the words that I'm about to give you,
Helen: and the first word is death. And you write D-E-A-T-H and whatever style of letters you want right there where the tide, where the waves have pulled back in the wet sand.[00:13:00]
Helen: Write this word knowing how painful it's to us, all of us, the death of a beloved two-legged or four. The physical loss of a beloved, even the horror of hearing of strangers that have died and left others in grief,
Helen: death, so painful. And the only thing that we know is consistent with life and form is death. The one thing we will all experience personally and also the death of those that we have loved this word death as you've written it in the sand Watch as the next wave comes that not [00:14:00] washing it completely away, but softening it just for a moment.
Helen: And as you're standing there engaging with the energy. Of the fear of death, the pain of death,
Helen: the seemingly cruelty and agony, or the release and peace of death. Could you, because you know you are safe, you know where you are, you know that you are only using the mind as a tool in meditation. Could you be with this fear?
Helen: The fear of death of someone you know close to you, or the fear of living after the death of someone you have loved
Helen: to be with. This fear doesn't mean you have to decide anything. It just means you [00:15:00] open your heart chakra and give yourself permission to be present with it without judgment. There is nothing for you to decide. There is nothing you have to do. Nowhere to go. Just listen to my voice and choose to relax.
Helen: Being in full awareness that death exists
Helen: throughout all human history. Death has existed.
Helen: Death is. As life is
Helen: and look down again. And as you see that the waves have taken this word, the letters that you wrote into the wet sound, it's washed death away. Look at that sand that's clear, like a blank canvas.[00:16:00]
Helen: Look at it and know.
Helen: That death is the necessary aspect and physical form for life to continue
Helen: that in this moment, in this meditation, it's not personal that you could look at death and accept it in this meditation. So for just a moment out of your real life, you could feel comforted.
Helen: By the peace of life being able to continue because death exists
Helen: and maybe you could even allow yourself to open your heart to truth that physical death f does not take love from me.
Helen: That any death you've [00:17:00] experienced today or any death in the near future, the love that you feel for that being never leaves you. Yes, it is true. You will physically miss the voice, the sound, the touch, the smell, the engagement, the exchange at a physical level.
Helen: Your physical senses will miss this being, and yet the love that is there is never diminished. Just for a moment, allow this to comfort you.
Helen: Allow the mind and the heart to receive the truth of this knowledge.
Helen: And allow the nervous system to receive this respite, this imagine [00:18:00] comfort until your hormonal levels rebalance. It's like recharging so that you can face the physical reality you are in again.
Helen: Now looking at, just walk a little bit to your right or to your left, whichever feels right to you. Just a few feet, feeling the sand beneath your arches, your toes, your heels.
Helen: When you're ready, face the ocean again. Look at the sky, hear the sounds, feel the air, the saltiness of it,
Helen: the moisture of it,
Helen: and look down again at the sand [00:19:00] as the tide pulls out a little bit. The waves received, and this time right. The word permanence,
Helen: and as you write the entire word, her,
Helen: it's a long word,
Helen: and the wave, somehow wait until you have it fully written, deeply inscribed in another earth. And the wet sand permanent, and even as you're riding it, you're aware that the waves will erase this to you, that in human life there is no permanence. There is no permanence except of love,[00:20:00]
Helen: because love does not need four.
Helen: Love exists beyond the physical senses,
Helen: and as you stand with this energy of this word permanence, know that all the times you have feared change that was uninvited change that wasn't planned for or desired, that you have experienced impermanence more times than you can count.
Helen: And yes, it can be jolty, it can be horrifying. It can cause anxiety, stress, uncertainty, and yet always you have found your way through it into a new level of experience.
Helen: And as the first wave [00:21:00] comes to soften this word. Permanence. You realize that fear of things not being permanent, lifestyles, careers, the government, the economy styles, culture,
Helen: income, relationships. All are impermanent and it's okay for you to let the waves take your fear for a moment
Helen: knowing that you were once a child, an infant, toddler, a young child, a teenager,
Helen: that your entire human existence is about change. Nothing is permanent. Nothing [00:22:00] is permanent and you are safe
Helen: just for a moment be with the awareness of impermanence. Knowing that permanence is washed away in the tide, it's life leaves us in death, and yet still you are.
Helen: That which has changed through death or change that you didn't choose or control, all of the good, all of the memories are still yours.
Helen: Allow yourself to stand in full awareness of the fear of things not being permanent. And allow yourself to receive from this beautiful mother earth comfort from the sun and from the waves [00:23:00] comfort, from knowing. In this moment, you are only meditating. You're choosing relaxation. You are choosing to recharge, your choosing to rebalance so that you can face all the fears, all the chaos, and the impermanence around you.
Helen: And look down and see that permanence is washed away, that no matter what experience you are in,
Helen: it too shall change.
Helen: And yet the life force, the soul cell, the consciousness that is you. You cannot die with the body and you cannot be separated from the love that you have experienced, that you have chosen,[00:24:00]
Helen: like this meditation. It is a matter of where you put your awareness,
Helen: allowing yourself. To go one step over again to whichever side you had first gone. And this time, instead of third fear, which is about love and unconditional love, and we're in human form. This time we're gonna write the word comfort.
Helen: Comfort.
Helen: Write the word comfort.
Helen: And allow your nervous system, allow your body, allow every cell in your being. Allow all levels of your consciousness to remember the feeling place, the [00:25:00] experience of comfort,
Helen: and it might be to you nurturing. It might be. Physical comfort. It might be emotional comfort. It might be both. It might be feeling connected to something bigger than you. It might feel like relief. There's so many different degrees of comfort. The times you have been comforted, when you were afraid or comforted when you cry, comforted when you were physically hurt.
Helen: At times you were comforted by a beautiful blue sky and you couldn't describe it or comforted by the love of a four-legged or a child comforted by a hug or a smile, or a song, or beautiful artwork, peace that you saw. [00:26:00] Allow yourself to pull a bold memory of the term symbol. The experience of comfort and playfully pretend that you could step forward now into the word comfort, and as the next way rolls up to wash away the written word, you actually absorb the energy of comfort up through the soles of your feet, the tops of your feet, through your ankles.
Helen: That the ocean as full as it is, of death, of life, of loss, as full as the ocean is of diverse temperatures of movement, of stillness.
Helen: You too live many diverse [00:27:00] experiences. And the pain does recede and calmness comes and stagnation shifts into enthusiasm and grief expands into a heart that's capable of more love than you ever imagined. And fear makes space for courage. Encourage, make space for confidence
Helen: as death allows life to continue.
Helen: And for this moment of absorbing the idea of comfort and diversity into your body, remember
Helen: that you don't have to understand it like it agree with it. [00:28:00] These are not for you to grasp at the human level. It is only for you to choose how you want to experience yourself in it. Your mind is the tool to guide you in the best quality of experience by your choice, not another's. This life is full of all of it.
Helen: Pain and health, sickness and vitality,
Helen: grief and enthusiasm, old and new.
Helen: This plane of existence and duality contains all of that. And in this moment of relaxing, could you open your heart?[00:29:00]
Helen: Leading the nervous system into a broader understanding that you are safe, loving life. Even though your body will die, even though your lifestyle will face many changes, you are safe loving the hardness of it, the grace of it, the challenge, the fulfillment.
Helen: You are safe in choosing to experience it all in the belief that you are a beloved child of a good and loving creator, and there is no end to love
Helen: that all leads eventually. To one thing, the expansion of goodness and [00:30:00] love for all. Even when in one human lifetime we cannot see the big picture.
Helen: Could you ingest this moment? Fill your body, fill your mind, fill your nervous system, fill your heart. With awareness and acceptance, knowing that any time you need to recharge,
Helen: you can re-listen to this meditation or any meditation that takes you into a,
Helen: a refilling, a realignment, a knowing, a comfort of truth. That although death exists as does change,[00:31:00]
Helen: you are safe enjoying the journey of life with all of its diversity and duality. Okay? Imagine that you're breathing in safety so that your nervous system. Can reset and recharge, refill itself so that as this meditation ends, you will feel more centered in the authentic truth of who you are. An eternal soul and a physical body living the biggest adventure there is a human life onto Earth, and it is good.
Helen: And it is right to be you Now, taking a big breath, letting the beach recede. Coming [00:32:00] back into the room, coming back into your body, maybe wiggling your fingers and toes. Stretching. Now stretching.
Helen: And you may find that you feel like experiencing grief with tears, quiet, solitude. Or you may feel refreshed and ready to face the challenges of your life. Again, whatever experience you have, allow it. Allow yourself to be in choice even though you did not choose the circumstances. You are in a big breath now, all the way back, coming fully back conscious, fully back.
