Anne: [00:00:00] Hi, I am Anne, and I'm Helen. And welcome to Metaphysical Street Smarts. What is Metaphysical Street Smarts? Helen
Helen: Physical is everything you can see with your human eye. You can see, touch, feel, taste as a human. Metaphysical. Is that what you cannot see? Wifi microwave energy. When you feel somebody staring at you, you can't really feel eyesight.
Helen: So metaphysical is that what you can't perceive with the human eye? Street smarts means let's take the woowoo, the energetic, the airy fairy, and add it to logic so that you can have a better experience of yourself. In this one.
Anne: As always, we invite you to take what blesses you and leave the rest. We're so glad you're here.
Anne: Let's jump in. Hi, Helen.
Helen: Hey, Ann. Hi. How are you today? I'm very
Anne: well. How are you doing? [00:01:00]
Helen: I'm good. I am feeling very good about, well, actually, I feel some energy that I believe is nervousness, which I haven't felt in a long time. I know we're getting close to wrapping up a year, which was your target. Mm-hmm.
Helen: And so I, I kind of feel that, and I know that we're doing these last few podcasts just a little differently to invite our listeners to come into a workshop. And if you can't make it, you could still register and have the recording sent to you of, um, having this opportunity after listening to the podcast to bring your own intentions and get.
Helen: A little loving support and guidance where you might not have clarity on utilizing principle-based thought in your alignment so that you can be a powerful co-creator of what you would prefer to experience. So, I don't know. I miss our old, uh, q and a and it being so [00:02:00] I, I miss the luxury of thinking it was just endlessly ongoing.
Helen: And yet I'm so amazed that we're, so today's number 49. Mm-hmm.
Anne: Oh, I'm sorry. Today is 50.
Helen: We're on 50.
Anne: Yep. Today is
Helen: 50. Dang. That's incredible. So, yes. Um, that I'm, I'm impressed and it's been a joyful, fun ride. Thank you to all our listeners and to you, Ann. So, yes, today we were gonna continue, we went through.
Helen: The Seven Habits, kind of overviewed. That last podcast, this podcast, um, we're gonna go into a little bit more utilizing the Logical Law of Attraction book, just using how I break down, applying those thoughts, because we'd like to prompt everybody to start using them and, uh, to, to think about where you want some help.
Helen: And come into a [00:03:00] interactive workshop to get it.
Anne: Yeah, and I love the idea of, we're getting into, it's gonna be October when we're doing our workshop and getting to refocus the last couple of months of the year and really thinking about wrapping up or focusing on our goals that may have slipped a little bit during the, the summer and just.
Anne: That opportunity to refocus. And I love your, um, I've got my signed copy of Logical Law of Attraction and this is totally like our hopes, um, and our focus for these last few episodes. Um, you said, may your mind always serve you in having the best quality of experience, and that's our hope with these. Uh, episodes focused on the post notes from Logical Law of Attraction is to help us have our minds be our, be our tools for the best experience possible.
Helen: [00:04:00] And yes, wouldn't you say that has been helpful? You and I both just said goodbye to Beloved four-legged. Mm-hmm. And it's nice to do it without having regrets or what? It should have could as isn't it? It is.
Anne: Yeah.
Helen: So I do really believe, you know, life is always changing. You don't control hardly anything really.
Helen: And then we even struggled to control our thoughts. Uh, and so it's not about learning what to do or how to do things specifically. It's really if you can learn how to think, you can always have the best quality of experience, even in the hardest, most difficult times. And that is what I think our evolutionary invitation is right now, developing the skill of choice.
Helen: And yet choice is not so great if you don't know how to think and use your mind to choose well,
Anne: yeah. We've gotta wake up. That first kind of step is [00:05:00] recognizing that maybe your, your reaction is not in choice in that moment. And so once we get to that, we have to know
Helen: how we can choose differently. Right?
Helen: Yeah, exactly. And that's what happened when I was doing just EFT. You know, people would come for tapping. It's really amazing and transformative. But if they didn't learn new ways of thinking and acting, they just would repeat the old energies in different circumstances. That's why I'm so committed to this.
Helen: So how about if we start with, um, just a quick recap of the seven and how they work together with Universal Laws. This would be page 16 and 17 in the book. Sound good? Sounds great. Okay, so remember these are, Stephen Covey was studying success in individuals, businesses, organizations, groups, and he found seven spiritual principles.
Helen: So principles are self-evident. You just look at the opposite and know you wouldn't want that. [00:06:00] Right? And spiritual principles means that they work consistently across all time, all generation, all situations. So Coy nicknamed them the seven Habits, and I regularly call them principal based thought. And I just, uh, short, you know, use initials PBTA lot, principal based thought with my students.
Helen: So they are one, be proactive. Two, begin with the end in mind. Three put first things first. Four, think win-win. Five, seek first to understand, then to be understood. Synergize is number six, and number seven is sharpen the saw. So one thing that's different about the way I teach it, um, or what I discovered for myself was that it's not focusing on one or two principles at a time.
Helen: If I have a less than good experience, I know I dropped one of them. It is about utilizing [00:07:00] all seven together. So here's a quick breakdown of how these principles work together and with universal laws. Without clarity on your end in mind, you won't know how to be proactive, and you can't figure out what first things are first, without clarity on your end in mind, you won't know what will require you to sharpen the saw without seeking to understand.
Helen: You can't choose an end in mind that naturally creates a win-win win without learning new information, which is sharpening the saw. You can't define the proactive steps to create something new in an efficient, effective way through First things first, without developing skill in giving what will be received and receiving what is given, which takes seeking to understand others and having them understand you.
Helen: You can't stay in your business powerfully and be a catalyst [00:08:00] for synergy with another person without a clear end in mind and proactive action. You just can't set the stage for synergy. Right. So it's learning to understand all these principles and living them together consistently. One thing I do wanna point out, I've noticed that people will start, they'll read, um, Covey seven Habits as I often recommend, and then they're waiting for other people to seek to understand them.
Helen: That doesn't happen unless people are actively engaged in this work. So when we say seeking to be understood. That would put the responsibility on you to communicate in a way they can hear you. It's really about evolving into a level of responsibility for our own quality of experience in life that we haven't been taught before.
Helen: So I would speak to a student [00:09:00] differently than I speak to my husband or my parents when they were here, and I would speak to a five-year-old very differently than I would speak to an elder. And even speaking to my boys when they were teenagers, that was a whole different language than now that they're adults.
Helen: Totally. And I speak differently to Anne or a girlfriend, right, than I would if I'm teaching a class or a workshop. And I speak differently if I'm a student asking good questions and staying on topic compared to how I might speak over a social dinner. So seeking to be understood. You can't really do that unless you first understand what the other person is focused on, the language they prefer, what has importance to them.
Helen: So that's one place I've noticed can be a little tricky for people.
Anne: Yeah, it's really that key. I think you've said before, you can't really do the second part of it. [00:10:00] You can't really skip to the second part. You can't skip to seeking to be understood without understanding first. It really is two parts that do have a chronological order,
Helen: and I've learned over the years, um.
Helen: And, and you'll know this, Ann, you'll recognize this because Paige and I do it at every one of the retreats, and I do it at workshops. I always have everybody fill out a, what, why, how, how for what they want out of our time together. And when we do this, two things happen. One, people get clear on what they're willing to receive.
Helen: Right. They're seeking to understand what it is they want, which I love. And then two, their mind hears them because they've written it out and thought about it, and the mind agrees to receive that. So it makes, uh, it makes Paige and I look amazing on retreats because we always ask if everybody hit their target, makes sure it's covered.
Helen: And in workshops it creates a lot of success [00:11:00] too. So that's one area. Of being in clarity of what you want, what you're, why you're listening to the podcast, would be a good reason. And then seeking to be understood means that you're communicating in a way with a teacher or a friend, or an authority figure, or a colleague or a family member in a language that you know won't trigger them.
Helen: Frighten them, overwhelm them, but instead will ask for what you want. Or what you need to be understood in, in a way that they can relate to. Make sense? Yeah, it does. Okay, so we kind of went through that. So let's see what we've got. We did flag the pages, so page 26.
Anne: Yeah. This one's going into kind of the, the nitty gritty of what clarity is, as well as why clarity.
Anne: Why clarity is important.
Helen: And c Clarity's trickier than [00:12:00] it sounds, right?
Anne: Oh, a hundred percent.
Helen: Yeah. It's, it's like we came into this planet and these weird bodies with these bizarre minds where the mind plays tricks on us, even though it's the mind that can lead us into what we want. It can also keep us unaware, unconscious, repeating patterns that we don't care for.
Helen: It can be working with beliefs that we're unaware that we hold. It's really, I think it's spiritual Olympics. Let's go be informed with the biggest tool as our mind and have the mind be not stable or consistent. That's like a hard setup, isn't
Anne: it? Can confirm. It's tricky working with that kind of equipment.
Helen: So clarity is just. It's just a big principle, right? So think about it in ways that you can relate to. If, if you're gonna bake a cake, you better have clarity on the measurements, right? [00:13:00] Baking is more of a science. Things have to be measured and put in order. If you put something out of order, your baking won't happen.
Helen: Well,
Anne: mm-hmm.
Helen: Right? I, I, I can't be the only one who learned that the hard way. Um, and you know, clarity, knowing what you want just makes for such a better situation. So without clarity, the principles are not fully integrated with the true, uniquely authentic you. If you don't take a moment for your own personal clarity, you're just repeating beliefs of your parents, the culture, mass consciousness, or your wounded self.
Helen: You really wanna wake up and up your game there. In other words, synergy is limited in like measured how much your authenticity is limited in this limitation. The win-win win effect is also limited. We are unique [00:14:00] individuals here to bless ourselves, others, and the world in our own unique way, which is very different than the repetition of what is and what has been.
Helen: Or what's already in existence. So here's a few quick things about clarity to remember. Clarity is necessary to effectively and efficiently understand what you want, your end in mind, your goal, your target. Sometimes we need to start with what we don't want to get into true clarity of what we do want.
Helen: Have you ever found that helpful?
Anne: Oh, definitely. I, especially toward the. The rest of my life, I guess it's definitely been easier for me to pick at what I don't want versus pinpoint what I do want.
Helen: Yeah. And so it doesn't mean don't think of what you don't want. If you're gonna go there, utilize it. Mm-hmm.
Helen: To think, well, if that's what I don't want, what, what would the opposite be? What could be possible if it wasn't that? What does it
Anne: look like? Right. [00:15:00] Yeah. Because what we focus on expands. And I, it's such a like talking to other people, other family members, and just hearing echoes of my previous ideas of, um.
Anne: You know, like scarcity and money and time and all of those things, and hearing how, noticing how other people talk about those things and going, oh man, I used to do that all the time. I'm so glad that I am conscious about how I'm talking about these things so I can have fun with it and have an intentional experience.
Anne: It makes such a big difference,
Helen: and I even catch myself sometimes I'll just say something and I'll be like. What is coming outta my mouth? Am I even paying attention? Like how do I talk without paying attention?
Anne: Yeah. Like, oh, I don't even believe that anymore. And I'm still saying it. Right. It's
Helen: just, it's pretty crazy.
Helen: Yeah. Um, so your level of clarity of what is your business will equal your level of [00:16:00] success. And one of the other things I find people really struggle with is understanding how to be in their own business. Was that hard for you?
Anne: Yes. It's still hard for me and I'm, I'm really, no, I don't mind saying it.
Anne: It's still hard for me and I think it's not like, you know, an everyday, no, I shouldn't. It's probably an everyday thing I'm still working on. Um, and I'm really looking forward to when we get to that section, 'cause I, I wanna dive in on that because. I think it's not, it's not a skill that we're, we've been taught a whole lot yet, and I'm excited to get more of it.
Helen: Okay. Well, good to know. Yes. I think because I've gotten to teach it so much, it's gotten, you know, anchored for me. Mm-hmm. Um, clarity is the skill to be sure you're in your business and [00:17:00] that you can use your mind to strategically, that means smartly, logically. Intelligently understand what would be, first things first clarity is respecting what is other people's business.
Helen: Okay. Yeah. That, that can be hard. Yeah. Giving what will be received and receiving what is given to create synergy. So it's, you know, receiving what is given. That can be tricky because you've got to really understand somebody else's limit of giving. And for some reason with little people it's easier 'cause they're so darn cute.
Helen: But once humans are adults, it's very annoying. Once it's your partner,
Anne: once it's, Ooh, yeah, the person that you think should just automatically have your back and be able to achieve greatness, turns out they're also human.
Helen: Yeah. Which they [00:18:00] probably could do if we didn't keep changing all the time. Mm-hmm.
Helen: Right? Mm-hmm. Um, okay. So let's see. Clarity helps you to avoid reactive urges and to be responsive or proactive in a way that aligns you to your desires. Clarity is a must to go into bigger perspective. And understand the situation, circumstances, and or other people's perspectives, limitations and strengths.
Helen: Clarity is the skill that allows you to keep evolving or sharpen the saw in regard to holding principle-based thought and conscious co-creation. Clarity takes practice to become a dominant resident. It's clearly understanding each individual principal means you can utilize them all together. You know, Paige and I, um, spent, [00:19:00] I don't know, years, but I don't know if she, I think she can still do it.
Helen: You could ask me my, what, why, how, how on anything, and I can answer pretty much right then. So that was a lot of work. At first, I wrote a gazillion of those pages out, um, and I rewired my mind so that I would always be thinking. And clarity or I'd noticed when I wasn't and be aware of it. Is it getting easier for you to, to reach for clarity more often?
Anne: Yeah, and I think one of the biggest things is it's easy for me to tell when I don't have clarity. I'm like, oh, I know what the opposite feels like. Um, I'm feeling yucky and I'm not necessarily used to feeling yucky anymore. What am I gonna do about this? Is it nice? Yes. It's so nice. It's so nice for, for me to not be used to feeling yucky.
Anne: Imagine
Helen: I, I do [00:20:00] know, and it's now, my life is so magical that when things are, I don't know, difficult or not flowing, I wouldn't even say difficult anymore. I don't perceive it that way, but when things feel. Like they're not in the flow. I'm usually surprised. Mm-hmm. I'm like, oh, what are we learning new?
Helen: Mm-hmm. Oh, what do we get to choose now? What new level of clarity is it I'm seeking? And sometimes now it's, it's not so often, but when that happens, sometimes it's about me taking more time, like a day to let my mind percolate and bring up what's the next level for me now, what is it I'm seeking clarity on next?
Helen: Um, because. S one thing you know, I started this journey of learning and teaching and tapping and healing work for mind, spirit, body, emotions, and it was all pain motivated coming out of [00:21:00] pain. Motivation is a whole new learning field to continue growing in clarity and principle-based thought out of joy and love and happiness.
Helen: Is, uh, a little different. And I'm always like, oh, I'll go first. I don't mind.
Anne: Yeah. Sign me up. So what does being pain motivated look like?
Helen: Well, it's why you started with me. Yeah. You didn't feel good. So you called me the coach, right? Yeah. Pain motivated means you're just sick and tired of being sick and tired and miserable or hurt feelings.
Helen: Oh, heart feelings are the worst thing in the world. Um, and that discomfort leads many of us. Into seeking. There's gotta be a better way. There's gotta be a way I can feel better. That's what I mean when I say pain motivated.
Anne: And so then what does being, I think like the opposite of that is clarity, motivated, like what's the,
Helen: I would call it, that's a good question.
Helen: I don't think I've ever answered this or thought of it so much. I would call it growth motivated. Oh. And for [00:22:00] me, growth is how do I grow in contribution. And that doesn't mean more teaching, more podcasts, more books necessarily. It can mean, how can I up my vibrational resonance because 24 7, you're contributing.
Helen: So how can I do everything I do with more love? How can I channel and embody more light, more kindness, more generosity, more peace? And so for me, that's what it's about. What's the next level and how do I increase my joy? Which is way different from where I started. Like, how the heck do I get out of this pain?
Anne: Yeah. I think, I mean, I think in the, like hope, I don't know the, the level of hope clarity has given me and gives me is that when I'm clear, even though the results aren't necessarily predictable, they are somewhat repeatable. I know if I get [00:23:00] clear then I'm able to. Be aware of the steps that I'm taking to get to where I want to go.
Anne: And that makes it easier for me in the future to go. I'm not exactly where I wanna be and I've got steps to, to change that and take action.
Helen: Yes. And my way of saying that is, I don't know what life's gonna throw me next. Mm-hmm. And yet I do know how I'm gonna show up.
Anne: That's my favorite.
Helen: It's changed my life, so yes.
Helen: Uh, check it out. Sign up for the workshop. I think it's, is it October 10th? October 10th, yep. At October 10th. Y'all wanna register? You can email me. I'll have it.
